It’s one of the most anticipated TV series returns in recent weeks.
The sixth – and final series of Peaky Blinders – starring Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby was teased by the BBC One in a short tantalising clip that was aired over Christmas.
While a precise return date has yet to be announced, what is known is that it will be aired in February 2022 – so sometime this month.
What is known is that the first episode of series six will be entitled ‘Black Day’.
And the series is filmed in Cheshire with Arley Hall, near Warrington, the backdrop for some of the most memorable scenes as Tommy Shelby’s home.
What is certain is that the series will be the last. But fans need not despair as a feature film is on its way once the series is over.
In an interview with Variety magazine, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight said he would write the feature which will be set and shot in Birmingham.
And he indicated that it will “probably be the sort of the end of the road for Peaky Blinders as we know it”.
The feature-length film could go into production as soon as next year.
